For 1990-2009 cars only
- Visually inspect the drum brake system universal spring (6) for the following:
- If any of the conditions listed are found, the brake drum system hardware requires replacement.
- Visually inspect the park brake lever (4) for the following:
- If any of the conditions listed were found, the park brake lever and/or attaching hardware requires replacement.

| • | Broken or excessive corrosion. |
| • | Excessive stretching. |
| • | Twisting or binding. |
| • | Bent. |
| • | Broken pivot. |
| • | Broken at park brake cable attachment. |
