Did you perform the Radio/Audio System Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Radio/Audio System

1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
2. Turn ON the radio.
3. Insert the tape or CD from the J 39916-A .

Can audio be heard from all speakers?

--

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Disconnect the radio connector. Refer to Radio Replacement .
3. Test all speaker outputs from the radio for a short to ground or a short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 4

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the radio. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

Important:: Perform the radio set up procedure for the radio.

Replace the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
