Removal Procedure
- Disable the SIR system. Refer to
Disabling the SIR System
in SIR.
- Remove the steering wheel from the steering column. Refer to
Steering Wheel Replacement
in Steering Wheel and
Column-Tilt.
- Release the retaining
tabs inside the steering wheel and remove the trim that covers the back of
the steering wheel.
- Remove the bolt that attaches the ground wire to the steering
wheel.
- Pry outward with a small
flat-bladed tool to remove the cruise control switch from the steering wheel.
- In a downward motion push the switches back through the steering
wheel to remove the cruise control switches and wire harness from the steering
wheel.
Installation Procedure
- In a upward motion push
the switches and wire harness back through the steering wheel.
- Push downward on the cruise control switch to install the cruise
control switch to the steering wheel.
- Install the bolt that attaches the ground wire to the steering
wheel. Tighten till fully seated.
- Install the trim cover
to the back of the steering wheel engaging all the locking tabs.
- Install the steering wheel to the steering column. Refer to
Steering Wheel Replacement
in Steering Wheel and
Column-Tilt.
- Enable the SIR system. Refer to
Disabling the SIR System
in SIR.
- Perform a Diagnostic System Check. Refer to
Diagnostic System Check - Cruise Control
in Cruise Control.
