AC Compressor Clutch Inoperative - air fuse HVAC ZB

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

A complaint of A/C not cooling, A/C compressor inoperative, or the 10 amp A/C clutch fuse is blown may be due to a shorted diode internal to the compressor clutch.

To correct, replace the compressor clutch, NOT the complete compressor assembly. Service part numbers for the appropriate A/C clutches are:

4 cylinder - L61 - 22692376

6 cylinder - LX9 - 22692377

A/C compressor clutch replacement instructions are found in SI document number 1235051 for the L61 - 4 cylinder and 1235052 for the LX9 - 6 cylinder.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
