Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the two spark plug wires from the 1-4 ignition coil (2) or the 2-3 ignition coil (1).

  2. Object Number: 238869  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the faulty ignition coil.
  4. Remove the two bolts that attach the ignition coil to the cylinder head.
  5. Remove the ignition coil from the cylinder head.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 238869  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the ignition coil to the cylinder head and secure with the two bolts.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the ignition coil attaching bolts to 10 N·m (7.5 lb ft).

  3. Connect the ignition coil electrical connector.

  5. Connect the correct two spark plug wires to 1-4 ignition coil (2) or the 2-3 ignition coil (1).
