Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 185573  Size: SH
  1. Remove the negative (-) battery cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. Remove the positive (+) battery cable from the positive (+) battery terminal.
  3. Remove the 1 bolt and the battery hold down bracket (4) from the battery tray.
  4. Remove the battery from the vehicle.
  5. Remove the 3 bolts from the battery tray.
  6. Remove the battery tray from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the battery tray into the vehicle.
  2. Install the 3 bolts.
  3. Install the battery into the vehicle.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the battery hold down bracket (4) and the 1 bolt to the battery tray.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the battery hold down bracket nuts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  7. Install the positive (+) battery cable to the positive (+) battery terminal.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the positive (+) battery cable terminal to 5.5 N·m (48.68 lb in).

  9. Install the negative (-) battery cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the negative (-) battery cable terminal to 5.5 N·m (48.68 lb in).
