- Measure the accelerator
pedal for 2-7 mm (0.08-0.27 in) of free-play with
the throttle closed. If the measured free-play is within the specified value
go to Step 7.
- Loosen the accelerator
control cable locknut (1).
- Turn the accelerator control cable adjusting nut (2) until
there are 2-7 mm (0.08-0.27 in) of free-play at
the accelerator pedal.
- Tighten the accelerator control cable locknut (1) after
the adjustment is set.
- Measure the accelerator pedal free-play for the specified value
in Step 1.
- Repeat Steps 2 through 5 until the accelerator pedal free-play
is within the specified value.
- Depress the accelerator
pedal to the floor.
- Measure the distance between the throttle lever (1) and
the throttle stop (2) with a feeler gauge for 0.5-2.0 mm
(0.02-0.07 in) of clearance. If the measured clearance is within
the specified value go to Step 10.
- Adjust the height of the
pedal stopper bolt (1) in order to obtain the specified clearance at
the throttle stop.
- Operate the accelerator control cable from inside the vehicle
with the engine OFF to verify that the throttle movement is smooth and not
