Removal Procedure

J 6627-A Wheel Stud
Remover
CAUTION:: If one stud is damaged, replace all the studs. A loose-running wheel
may cause only one stud to break, but the other studs could have internal
fatigue. Replacing only the broken stud and remounting the wheel may cause
further damage and personal injury. If the stud holes in the wheels have become
enlarged or distorted, replace the wheel.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Remove the front tires and the wheels. Refer to
Wheel Removal
.
- Remove the following items:
- Install a wheel stud nut onto the wheel stud.
- Use the J 6627-A
in order to remove the wheel stud from the hub.
Installation Procedure
- Install the washers on
the wheel stud.
- Pull the wheel stud into position with the wheel nut.
- Remove the wheel nut and the washers.
