Was the Heater Blower Controls System Check performed?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the blower speed selector switch.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

Does the blower motor stop running?

--

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

Replace the blower speed selector switch. Refer to Blower Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Heater Blower Controls System Check

Backprobe the blower motor connector with a test lamp from terminal 2 to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 5

Repair the short to voltage in the PNK wire between the following components:

    • The blower motor
    • The blower motor resistor
    • The blower speed selector switch

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Heater Blower Controls System Check

Backprobe the blower motor resistor connector with a test lamp from terminal 1 to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 8

Repair the short to voltage in the PNK/BLU wire between the blower motor resistor and the blower speed selector switch.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Heater Blower Controls System Check

Backprobe the blower motor resistor connector with a test lamp from terminal 3 to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 10

Repair the short to voltage in the PNK/GRN wire between the blower speed selector switch and the blower motor resistor.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the short to voltage in the PNK/BLK wire between the blower speed selector switch and the blower motor resistor terminal 4.

Is the repair complete?
