Removal Procedure

Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the wiper motor electrical connector.
  3. Remove the 3 wiper motor mounting bolts.

  4. Object Number: 351718 Size: MH
  5. Pull the motor (8) away from the bulkhead.
  6. Important: The wiper motor crank arm is not serviced separately. Do not disconnect the wiper motor crank arm from the wiper motor. The crank arm is positioned on the wiper motor in order to allow the wiper arms to return to the normal park position.

  7. Gently pry the wiper linkage (3) from the wiper motor crank arm.
  8. Remove the wiper motor (8) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 351718 Size: MH
  1. Install the wiper linkage (3) to the wiper motor crank arm.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the wiper motor (8) to the bulkhead. Secure the wiper motor with the 3 mounting bolts.
  4. Tighten
Tighten the wiper motor mounting bolts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  5. Connect the wiper motor electrical connector.
  6. Connect the negative battery cable.
