For 1990-2009 cars only
The following data lines may be accessed by a scan tool:
| • | The electronic brake control module (EBCM), if equipped |
| • | The sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) |
The EBCM and the SDM are accessed through the PPL wire at the data link connector (DLC-OBD II) at cavity 9. The powertrain control module (PCM) is accessed through the PPL/WHT wire at the DLC-OBD II at cavity 7.
These communication lines monitor the module for diagnostic purposes and in order to inspect for diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
