Did you perform the Instrument Cluster Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Instrument Cluster System Check

1. Disconnect the ECT sensor connector.
2. Turn ignition switch to the ON position.

Does the ECT gauge indicate C?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

Replace the ECT sensor.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Instrument Cluster System Check

--

1. Disconnect the IP cluster assembly connector C1.
2. Connect a J 39200 DMM from the IP cluster assembly connector C1 terminal 6 to ground.
3. Measure the resistance.

Is the measured resistance less than the specified range?

∞

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Repair the short to ground in the YEL/WHT wire between the IP cluster assembly and the ECT sensor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Instrument Cluster System Check

Inspect the IP cluster printed circuit for the following conditions:

Are the connections OK?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 8

Replace the ECT gauge.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Instrument Cluster System Check

Replace the instrument panel cluster printed circuit. Refer to Printed Instrument Cluster Circuit Replacement in Instrument Panel , Gauges, and Console.
