Did you perform the Instrument Cluster Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Disconnect the oil pressure switch connector.
  2. Start the engine.

Does the oil pressure indicator lamp light?

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the IP cluster assembly connector C1.
  2. Connect a J 39200 DMM from the IP cluster assembly connector C1 terminal 8 to ground.
  3. Measure the resistance.

Is the measured resistance less than the specified value?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Repair the short to ground in the YEL/BLK wire between the IP cluster assembly and the oil pressure switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Repair/replace the IP cluster printed circuit.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Perform the oil pressure test.

Is the oil pressure value within the specified range?

Replace the oil pressure switch.

Inspect the engine oil pressure.

Is the engine oil pressure below the prescribed limits?
