Did you perform the Audible Warnings System Check?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  2. Disconnect the seat belt switch connector.

Does the alarm continue to sound?

--

Go to Step 3

Test for a short to ground in the GRY/RED wire between the following components:

    • Instrument cluster assembly C3 cavity 12.
    • Cavity 1 of the audio alarm module.
    • S227
    • Cavity 2 of the seat belt switch connector
    • Cavity 5 of the sensing and diagnostic module (SDM).

Was there a short to ground condition found?

Go to Step 5

Replace the seat belt buckle. Refer to Seat Belt Retractor Replacement - Left Front Two-Door (2-Door) or Seat Belt Retractor Replacement - Left Front Four-Door (4-Door) in Seat Belts.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Audible Warnings System Check

Repair the short to ground in the GRY/RED wire between the following components:

    • Instrument cluster assembly C3 cavity 12.
    • Cavity 1 of the audio alarm module.
    • S227
    • Cavity 2 of the seat belt switch connector
    • Cavity 5 of the sensing and diagnostic module (SDM).

Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the audio Alarm module. Refer to Audio Alarm Module Replacement .
