With the ignition switch in the ON position or in the START position, voltage applies through the WIPER fuse to the rear wiper/washer switch. With the rear washer switch pressed, voltage applies through the closed contacts of the switch to the following components:
• | The rear washer pump |
• | The rear wiper motor |
Because the rear washer pump is permanently grounded at G102, the pump continues to operate as long as the rear washer switch is held.
With the ignition switch in the ON position or in the START position, voltage applies through the WIPER fuse to the rear wiper/washer switch. With the rear wiper switch in the ON position, voltage applies through the closed contacts of the switch to the rear wiper motor. The motor permanently grounds at G401 which causes the wiper to operate as long as the rear wiper/washer switch is in the ON position. The rear wiper motor also incorporates an assembly which contains a pawl and a switch. If the wiper blade returns to the PARK position, the pawl opens the contacts that remove voltage to the motor.
