J 39916-A Audio System Diagnostic Kit
The diagnostic tape includes a 2-minute time period for the purpose of testing the motor speed of the cassette tape player. Use this portion of the diagnostic tape in order to verify complaints of abnormal sound from the cassette tape player. In some cases, improper motor speed can cause audio abnormalities. If the cassette plays this portion of the cassette between 1 minute, 55 seconds and 2 minutes, 1 second, then the motor speed is within tolerance.
The diagnostic test tape includes a portion which you can use for diagnosing the following types of noise, which are easily detected during the blank spaces between programs:
• | Alternator whine |
• | Switch pops |
Use this portion of the test tape during diagnostic testing. Refer to Radio/Audio System Check .
