Grounding out power steering gear pressure line

Inspect the power steering gear pressure line for the following conditions:

Loose rack bearing adjust

Tighten the rack bearing adjust to specification.

Refer to Steering Gear Rack Bearing Preload Adjustment - Off Vehicle .

Loose steering gear

Tighten the steering gear mounting bolts to specification.

Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications .

Loose tie rod ends

1. Inspect the tie rod ends.
2. Replace the tie rod ends if necessary. Refer to Rack and Pinion Outer Tie Rod End Replacement .

Loose intermediate shaft universal joints

Service the intermediate shaft universal joints if necessary. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement .
