Remove the horn relay.

Do the horns stop sounding?

Go to Step 2

1. Connect a test light.
2. Front probe between the horn relay terminals B3 and B1. Refer to Fuse Block Details for terminal location.

Does the test light illuminate?

--

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

1. Disconnect connector C201.
2. With a test light front probe between the horn relay terminal C3 and terminal B1.

Does the test light illuminate?

--

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

1. Replace the horn relay. Refer to Horn Relay Replacement for service procedure.
2. Repair the relay as needed.
3. Inspect the system.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 12

--

1. Repair the short to ground in CKT 28 between the engine wiring harness junction block 2 and C201.
2. Inspect the system.

Caution: This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:

•	Air bag deployment

•	Personal injury

•	Unnecessary SIR system repairs

In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:

•	Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring.

•	If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.

1. Disable the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Refer to Disable the SIR System in Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System.
2. Remove the horn switch from the steering wheel.
3. Disconnect the spring loaded terminal of the horn switch leading to connector C201 leaving the switch ground connected.
4. Connect a test light.
5. Probe between B+ and the spring loaded terminal leading towards the horn switch.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 8

1. Replace the horn switch. Refer to Horn Switch Replacement - On Vehicle for service procedure.
2. Repair the switch as needed.
3. Inspect the system.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 12

--

1. Repair a short to ground in CKT 28 between the horn switch and C201.
2. Inspect the system.

Is the repair complete?

• Disconnect the connector C219.

Do the horns stop sounding?

1. Repair a short to B+ in CKT 29 between connector C219 and the engine wiring harness 2.
2. Inspect the system.

Is the repair complete?

1. Repair a short to B+ in CKT 29 between the horn assembly connector and connector C219.
2. Inspect the system.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 12

1. Ensure the ignition is in the LOCK position.
2. Reconnect the connectors/components that were disconnected.
