Removal Procedure
- Open the rear compartment.
- Use a grease pencil in
order to make alignment marks to the rear compartment lid for location in
installation.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear compartment
lid lock release actuator.
- Remove the bolts from
the latch holding the rear compartment lid lock release actuator.
- Remove the latch from the rear compartment lid.
- Remove the bolts from the rear compartment lid lock release actuator
to latch.
- Remove the rear compartment lid lock release actuator from the
latch.
Installation Procedure
- Install the rear compartment
lid lock release actuator to the latch.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolts
to the rear compartment lid lock release actuator to latch.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Align the latch and the rear compartment lid lock release actuator
to the rear compartment lid alignment marks.
- Install the bolts to the latch.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (88 lb in).
- Connect the electrical
connector to the rear compartment lid lock release actuator.
- Close the rear compartment.
