Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the RH instrument panel (IP) insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement .
  2. Remove the IP compartment screws.
  3. Carefully release the IP compartment door latch. Remove the IP compartment from the IP and position the IP compartment to the floor.
  4. Remove the IP compartment lamp cover. Disconnect the IP compartment lamp assembly from the IP compartment.
  5. Remove the IP compartment.

Installation procedure

  1. Position the instrument panel (IP) compartment to the floor. Connect the IP compartment lamp assembly and the install the IP compartment lamp cover.
  2. Align and insert the IP compartment in to the proper position. Engage the IP compartment door latch in order to support the IP compartment.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the IP compartment screws.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the IP compartment screws to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  6. Install the RH IP insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement .
