Removal Procedure
- Remove the left instrument panel sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Disconnect the accelerator cable (5) from accelerator pedal (1).
- Remove the bolts (2) and studs (3) holding the accelerator pedal to the bulk head (4).
- Remove the accelerator pedal.
Installation Procedure
- Install the accelerator pedal (1) to bulkhead (4).
- Reinstall accelerator pedal bolt (3) and stud (2).
- Connect the accelerator cable (5) to accelerator pedal (1).
- Inspect the accelerator pedal. The throttle should operate freely without binding between full closed and wide open throttle.
- Reinstall the left instrument panel sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
The accelerator pedal assembly bolts and studs to 3.0 N·m
