  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Disconnect the seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps alarm connector.
  3. Ensure the drivers seat belt buckle is unfastened (released).
  4. Connect a test lamp.
  5. Probe between B+ and the seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps alarm harness connector terminal A2.

Does the test light illuminate?

  1. Disconnect the driver seat belt switch electrical connector.
  2. Connect a digital multimeter (DMM).
  3. Measure the resistance between the driver seat belt switch harness connector terminal A and the ground.

Is the resistance within the specified value?

Less than 2 ohms

Go to Step 3

  1. Connect a DMM.
  2. Measure the resistance between the seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps alarm harness connector terminal A2 and the driver seat belt switch harness connector terminal B.

Is the resistance within the specified value?

Less than 2 ohms

Go to Step 4

  1. Connect a DMM.
  2. Measure the resistance between the driver seat belt switch connector terminals A and B (switch side).

Is the resistance within the specified value?

Less than 2 ohms

  • Repair a poor connection or open in CKT 250.

  1. Ensure the ignition is in the LOCK position.
  2. Reinstall the connectors/components that were removed.
