Removal Procedure
Important:
• | The cruise control module is mounted to the left strut tower. |
• | Service the cruise control module as a complete unit. |
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
.
- Remove the cruise control cable from the cruise
control module.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the cruise control module.
- Remove the cruise control module nuts.
Installation Procedure
- Install the cruise control module on the mounting
studs.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the cruise
control module nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the cruise control module nuts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Remove the cruise control cable from the cruise
control module.
- Connect the electrical connector to the cruise control module.
- Adjust the cruise control cable.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
