Has the vehicle been inspected for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)?

Does the fuel gauge operate?

--

Go to Step 3

Refer to All Gauges and Indicators Inop Except Turn Signals, High Beam, Seatbelt Indicators and Illumination Lamps

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the powertrain control module connector C2.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  4. Connect a 3 amp fused jumper between the powertrain control module harness connector C2 terminal 6 and ground.

Is the oil level indicator ON?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

  1. Replace the powertrain control module (PCM). Refer to Powertrain Control Module Replacement in Engine Controls.
  2. Inspect the system.

Is the symptom still present?

--

Go to Step 5

System OK

  • Inspect for a poor connection or an open in CKT 1173.

Does a poor connection or an open exist in CKT 1173?

--

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 7

  1. Repair the poor connection or the open in CKT 1173.
  2. Inspect the system.

Is the symptom still present?

--

Go to Step 7

System OK

  1. Inspect the warning indicator bulb and the bulb connection.
  2. If OK, replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
  3. Inspect the system.
