  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Disconnect the seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps alarm connector.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Is the fasten belt indicator ON?

Measure the voltage between the seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps alarm connector terminal C2 and the ground with a DMM.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

Less than 2 V

Go to Step 9

  1. Fasten the driver's seat belt buckle.
  2. Measure the resistance between the seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps alarm electrical connector terminal A2 (harness side) and the ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

Infinite

Go to Step 6

  1. Disconnect the driver's seat belt buckle electrical connector.
  2. Measure the resistance between the seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps alarm electrical connector terminal A2 and the ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

Infinite

Go to Step 8

Repair short to B+ in CKT 234.

Replace the seat belt/ ignition key/ lamps alarm. Refer to Multifunction Alarm Module Replacement .

Repair the short to ground in circuit 238.

Replace the driver seat belt switch. Refer to Seat Belt Buckle Replacement - Left Front in Seat Belts.

Service the Instrument cluster.Refer to Instrument Cluster System Check in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

  1. Ensure the ignition switch is in the LOCK position?
  2. Reconnect any of the connectors/components removed.
  3. Inspect the system.
