Front Bumper Fascia Lower Support Replacement Sedan

1. Remove the lower air deflector on the base coupe and on the sedan models. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors in Engine Cooling.



2. Remove the bolt which fastens the lower support (2) on the front bumper fascia to the bumper fascia support upper on the sedan and on the base coupe model.
3. Drill out the rivets (3) from the bumper fascia lower support (2).
4. Remove the lower support (2) from the front bumper fascia.

1. Install the lower support (2) to the front bumper fascia.




Important: Install the center rivet first on the base coupe and the sedan model vehicles.

2. Install the rivets (3) to the lower support of the front bumper fascia.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

3. Install the bolt from the lower support of the front bumper fascia to the bumper fascia support upper on the sedan and the coupe models.

Tighten
Tighten the lower support bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

4. Install the lower air deflector, on the sedan and the base coupe models. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors in Engine Cooling.

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

1. Use the J 38778 in order to remove the push-in retainers from the front impact bar.



2. Drill out the rivets (3) from the front bumper fascia lower support.
3. Remove the lower support from the front bumper fascia.

1. Install the lower support to the front bumper fascia.
2. Install the rivets (3) to the lower support for the front bumper fascia.
3. Use the J 38778 in order to install the push-in retainers to the front impact bar.
