Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.

  3. Object Number: 189132  Size: SH
  4. Remove the drive axle. Refer to Wheel Drive Shafts Replacement in Driveline/Axle.
  5. Remove the brake rotor. Refer to Brake Rotor Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  6. Remove the bolts (1) and washers (2) from the hub and bearing assembly (3).

  7. Object Number: 189138  Size: SH
  8. Remove the hub and bearing assembly (1) from the steering knuckle (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 189138  Size: SH
  1. Install the hub and bearing assembly (1) into the steering knuckle (2).

  2. Object Number: 189132  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the hub and bearing bolts (1) and the washers (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 95 N·m (70 lb ft).

  5. Install the brake rotor. Refer to Brake Rotor Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  6. Install the brake caliper and bolts. Refer toBrake Caliper Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  7. Install the drive axle. Refer to Wheel Drive Shafts Replacement in Driveline/Axle.
  8. Install the tire and wheel assemblies Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  9. Inspect the front wheel alignment. Refer to Wheel Alignment Specifications in Wheel Alignment.
