The brake caliper has a single bore. The brake caliper is mounted to the steering knuckle with 2 mounting bolts. Hydraulic pressure, created by applying the brake pedal, is converted by the brake caliper to a stopping force. This force acts equally against the brake caliper piston and the bottom of the brake caliper bore in order to move the piston outward and to move (slide) the brake caliper inward, resulting in a clamping action on the brake rotor. This clamping action forces the linings against the brake rotor, creating friction to stop the vehicle.

Important:

â€¢ Install all new components included in the repair kit used to service the brake caliper.
â€¢ Lubricate the rubber parts with clean brake fluid in order to ease assembly.
â€¢ Do not use lubricated compressed air on the brake parts as damage to the rubber components may result.
â€¢ If any hydraulic component is removed or disconnected, you may need to bleed all or part of the brake system.
â€¢ Replace the shoe and linings in axle sets only.
â€¢ The tightening specifications are for dry, unlubricated fasteners.
â€¢ Perform service operations on a clean bench, free from all mineral oil materials.
