Was the Lighting Systems Diagnostic System Check performed?

Use the Scan Tool in order to command the INTERIOR LAMP OUTPUT on.

Do the courtesy lamps light?

Go to Step 3

  1. Ensure that you exit the LAMP TEST menu on the scan tool.
  2. Disconnect the door jamb switch from the door that does not light the courtesy lamps. (Use any passenger door jamb switch if the courtesy lamps are inoperative from all of the passenger doors.)
  3. Monitor the DOOR AJAR SWITCH input with the Scan Tool.
  4. Use a fused jumper in order to ground terminal A of the door jamb switch.

Does the DOOR AJAR SWITCH input toggle?

Test CKT 394 (passenger door) or CKT 395 (driver door) for an open between the body control module (BCM) and the door jamb switch. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Was an open found and corrected?

System OK

Go to Step 9

Test CKT 150 between the door jamb switch and ground for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Was an open found and corrected?

System OK

Test for an open or short to ground in the power feed CKT 340 from the RDO/INT LP fuse to the BCM connector C2 terminal A12. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Was a condition found and corrected?

System OK

Test for an open or short to ground in CKT 1732 between the BCM connector C2 terminal A10 and splice 352. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test for an open in CKT 156 between the BCM connector C3 terminal A1 and splice 224. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the BCM. Refer to Testing for Intermittent and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the door jamb switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the BCM. Refer to BCM Replacement in Body Control System.

Important: Perform the setup procedure for the BCM. Refer to BCM Reprogramming in Body Control System.
