Did you perform the Lighting Systems Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

Go to A Diagnostic System Check - Lighting Systems

1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.
3. Test for a short to battery in the instrument panel dimming lamps circuit. (Turn the ignition on when testing for a short to battery.) Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

System OK

Go to Step 3

Test for a short to battery in the parklamp input circuit to the BCM (CKT 9). (Turn the ignition on when testing for a short to battery.) Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

System OK

Go to Step 4

Test for a short to ground in the instrument panel dimmer switch signal return circuit (230) between the BCM and the instrument panel dimmer switch. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
