Removal Procedure
Tools Required
J 38043 Sunroof T-Wrench
- Remove the sunroof window. Refer to Sunroof Glass Panel Replacement.
- Use J 38043 in the sunroof motor slot and manually lower
the sunroof guides to the closed position.
- Disconnect the sunroof actuator. Refer to Sunroof Actuator Replacement.
- From above the vehicle, remove the left
and right sunroof cable retainer fasteners.
- Remove the retainers.
- Lift the drive cable end out of the guide
assembly.
- Hold the sunroof cable guide tubes in position.
- Pull the cables out of the sunroof cable guide tubes.
Installation Procedure
Important: Replace the cables if they are kinked. Replace the cables in pairs.
Sunroof cables have a flexible sealer at the tray assembly. Ensure that the
seal is not broken during cable removal or installation.
- Hold the cable tubes in position.
- Push the sunroof drive cables into the guide tubes.
Do not kink the cables.
- Engage the cables into the guide assemblies.
- Install the cable retainers.
Ensure the cable housing flair is seated into the module tray groove.
- Connect the sunroof actuator. Refer to Sunroof Actuator Replacement.
- Install the sunroof window. Refer to Sunroof Glass Panel Replacement.
