The remote keyless entry keyfob sends a radio signal to the Omron module to lock all of the doors when the keyfob lock button is pressed. When the BCM receives the lock signal from the Omron module, the BCM applies battery voltage to the door lock relay control circuit (195). Ground for the door lock relay is supplied by circuit 250.
This DTC can be set at any time as long as the voltage supplied to the BCM is within the normal operating range (approximately 9-16 volts).
The door lock relay control (circuit 195) is open or shorted to battery voltage for 30 seconds.
All door lock and unlock functions are inoperative from the keyfob as long as the malfunction is present.
• | A current DTC B3138 will clear when the malfunction is no longer present. |
• | All BCM history codes clear after 100 ignition cycles with no current codes active during the 100 ignition cycles. |
Pressing and holding the door lock switch for 30 seconds will also set this DTC.

Listen for an audible click when the door lock relay operates. Command both the ON and OFF states. Repeat the commands as necessary.
Verifies that the BCM is providing voltage to the door lock relay.
Tests for an open in the ground circuit to the door lock relay.
Tests if voltage is constantly being applied to the door lock relay.
