Go to Diagnostic System Check - Lighting Systems

Use the Scan Tool in order to command the courtesy lamps on.

Do the courtesy lamps light?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 3

Is only one lamp inoperative?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

1. Inspect the power supply or ground circuit for a poor connection or an open in the inoperative lamp. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.
2. Repair the poor connection or open in the inoperative lamp. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
3. If no fault is found, replace the inoperative lamp.

Did you complete the repair?

System OK

Test for an open or short to ground in the Inadvertent Power Control Circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Was a condition found and corrected?

System OK

Go to Step 6

Test for an open in the Interior Lamp Control Circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Was a condition found and corrected?

System OK

Go to Step 7

Important: Perform the set up procedure for the body control module.

Replace the body control module. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

System OK

1. Disconnect the door jamb switch that does not cause the courtesy lamps to light.
2. Monitor the door input with the Scan Tool.
3. Use a fused jumper in order to ground terminal A of the door jamb switch.

Does the door input toggle?

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 10

Test the door jamb switch signal circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Was the condition found and corrected?

System OK

Go to Step 7

Test the door jamb switch ground circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Was the condition found and corrected?

System OK

Go to Step 11

Replace the door jamb switch. Refer to Door Jamb Switch Replacement in Doors.

Is the repair complete?

System OK
