Removal Procedure
Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing
any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to
the vehicle or its components.
- Disconnect
the negative battery cable.
- Drain the engine cooling system to below the level of the thermostat.

- Remove the generator. Refer to
Generator Replacement
in Engine Electrical.
- Remove the fan control
switch electrical connector.
- Remove the fan control switch (2) from the thermostat
housing.
Installation Procedure
- Install the fan control
switch (2) to the thermostat housing.
Tighten
Tighten the fan control switch to 34 N·m (25 lb ft).
- Install the fan control switch electrical connector.
- Install the generator. Refer to
Generator Replacement
in Engine Electrical.
- Refill the engine cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
