Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 236339 Size: SH
  1. Drain the engine cooling system. Refer to Engine Cooling .
  2. Remove the air cleaner cover and the air inlet duct (3).
  3. Disconnect the TP sensor (2), MAP sensor (1) and the IAC valve (4) electrical connectors.

  4. Disconnect the accelerator cable (3) from the throttle lever.

    5. Rotating the throttle lever by hand will aide in accelerator cable removal.

  5. Remove the bolt and the accelerator cable bracket (4) from the throttle body.
  6. Disconnect the throttle valve cable (A/T only) from the throttle lever.

    7. Rotating the throttle lever by hand will aide in throttle valve cable removal.

  7. Remove the one clamp and the air hose (1) from the throttle body.
  8. Remove the two clamps and the coolant hoses (2) from the throttle body.

  9. Remove the two nuts (3) from the throttle body.
  10. Remove the throttle body (2) from the two studs on the intake manifold.
  11. Remove the throttle body gasket from the intake manifold.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 236342 Size: SH
  1. Install the new throttle body gasket (1) to the intake manifold.
  2. Install the throttle body (2) onto the two studs on the intake manifold.

    3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Secure the throttle body to the intake manifold with the two nuts (3).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the throttle body hold down nuts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  4. Install the air hose (1), secure with one clamp.
  5. Install the two coolant hoses (2), secure with two clamps.
  6. Install the throttle valve cable (A/T only).

    7. Rotating the throttle lever by hand will aide in throttle valve cable installation.

  7. Install the accelerator cable bracket (4).
  8. Secure the accelerator cable bracket (4) with the bolt.

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  9. Install the accelerator cable (3).

    10. Rotating the throttle lever by hand will aide in accelerator cable installation.

  10. Connect the TP sensor (2), the MAP sensor (1), and the IAC valve (4) electrical connectors.
  11. Install the air cleaner cover and the air inlet duct (3).
  12. Fill the engine cooling system. Refer to Engine Cooling .
