GM Service Manual Online
For 1990-2009 cars only

If a DTC has been stored, it must be cleared after the repair has been made. To clear DTCs, perform the following steps:

  1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
  2. Remove the STOP fuse.
  3. Remove the ECU-B fuse.
  4. Wait 30 seconds.
  5. Reinstall STOP and ECU-B fuses.
  6. Turn the ignition switch ON.
  7. Using the jumper, connect the DLC terminals 11 (Tc) and 3 (E1).
  8. Check that the CRUISE indicator lamp flashes rapidly. This confirms that DTCs have been cleared.
  9. If the CRUISE indicator lamp flashes any DTCs, perform the cruise control OBD system check to determine cause of malfunction within the cruise control system.

The cruise control system is not disabled by grounding the DLC Tc terminal. Cruise control system operation will occur normally with the exception that the CRUISE indicator will flash rapidly.
