In order to provide adequate cruise control operation the cruise control module receives information from the powertrain control module (PCM). Transmission DTCs may be set by faults in the PCM input circuits or the cruise control module. The following table indicates the PCM circuits and possible symptoms related to a faulty circuit or module.
Circuit Fault | Idle Signal (C3-3) | Shift Sol. 2 Signal (C1-22) | O/D Cut Signal (C2-12) |
---|---|---|---|
Open | No Symptoms | Cruise Inop. PCM DTCs Shifting Symptoms | No O/D cut-out during cruise |
Short to Ground | RPM flare at speed set | PCM DTCs Shifting Symptoms | Overdrive Inoperative |
Short to B+ | No Symptoms | Cruise Inop. PCM DTCs shifting symptom | No O/D cut-out during cruise |
