Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor .
  2. Remove the air hose (2) from the air cleaner cover.
  3. Remove the accelerator cable from the accelerator cable guide clip.
  4. Loosen the 2 air inlet duct clamps (4).
  5. Release the 2 air cleaner cover hold-down clips (3).

  6. Remove the air cleaner cover (1).
  7. Remove the air inlet duct (4).
  8. Remove the air filter (2).
  9. Remove the 3 bolts from the air cleaner lower assembly.
  10. Remove the air cleaner lower assembly (3) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the air cleaner lower assembly (3) to the vehicle.

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Secure the air cleaner lower assembly to the vehicle with 3 bolts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the 3 bolts to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).

  3. Install the air filter (2) to the air cleaner lower assembly (3).
  4. Install the air inlet duct (4).
  5. Install the air cleaner cover (1) onto the air cleaner lower assembly (3).

  6. Fasten the 2 air cleaner cover hold-down clips (3).
  7. Install the air inlet duct to the air cleaner cover and tighten the clamps (4).
  8. Insert the accelerator cable into the accelerator cable guide clip attached to the air cleaner cover.
  9. Install the air hose (2) to the air cleaner cover.
  10. Connect the IAT sensor electrical connector (1).
