- Install the following
to the intake manifold if required:
• | The ECT sensor sending unit |
• | The A/C ECT switch (3) (A/C equipped vehicles) |
• | The EGR temperature sensor |
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install a new intake manifold
gasket (3) and the intake manifold (4) with intake surge tank (1) and throttle
body (2) to the cylinder head. Secure with eight nuts and three bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the intake manifold nuts and bolts to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).
- Install the lower intake
manifold support bracket (3) to the intake manifold. Secure the bracket
with two bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the lower intake manifold support bracket bolts to 50 N·m
(37 lb ft).
- Install the rear intake manifold reinforcement bracket (1) to
the intake manifold. Secure the bracket with two bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the rear intake manifold support bracket bolts to 50 N·m
(37 lb ft).
- Install the front intake manifold reinforcement bracket (2) to
the intake manifold. Secure the bracket with two bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the front intake manifold support bracket bolts to 50 N·m
(37 lb ft).
- Install the generator
adjusting arm bracket (1)
to the intake manifold. Secure
the bracket with one bolt and one nut.
Tighten
Tighten the generator adjusting arm bracket nut bolt to 50 N·m
(37 lb ft).
