J 39183-C R-134a Manifold Gauge Set

1. Remove the evaporator from the vehicle. Refer to Air Conditioning Evaporator Core Replacement .



2. Connect the expansion valve (4) to a J 39183-C .
3. Connect the charging hose of the gauge set to an R-134a refrigerant drum (3).
4. Soak the valve's remote bulb in water (5).
5. Close both the high and low-pressure valves.
6. Open the valve to the refrigerant drum.
7. Open the high-pressure valve to approximately 5 kg/cm² (70 psi).
8. Read the pressure indicated on the low-pressure gauge, and measure the water temperature with a thermometer.



9. The pressure/temperature relationship should fall within the specifications shown in the chart. Otherwise, replace the expansion valve.
10. Install the evaporator to the vehicle. Refer to Air Conditioning Evaporator Core Replacement .
