  14. Inspect the mounting bolts (3), the slide caliper pins (7) and the dust boots (8) for corrosion and wear. Replace any part exhibiting such conditions.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 212411 Size: MH
  1. Install the inboard anti-noise shim (9) on the caliper (13) (if removed).

  2. Object Number: 172720 Size: SH
  3. Install the caliper assembly (1) to the vehicle.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Secure the assembly with two caliper pin bolts (2).
  6. Tighten
Tighten the caliper pin bolts to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  7. Install the brake hose union bolt with two new union fitting washers.
  8. Tighten
Tighten the brake hose union bolt to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).

  9. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Wheel Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Fill the master cylinder fluid reservoir. Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling in Hydraulic Brakes.
  12. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding in Hydraulic Brakes.
