Removal Procedure
- Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Remove the front grille. Refer to
Grille Replacement
in Exterior Trim.
- Remove the 1 bolt and the compressor discharge hose (4)
at the compressor.
- Remove the 1 bolt and the clamp from the radiator support.
- Remove the 1 bolt
and the compressor discharge hose (5) from the condenser
- Remove the hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Coat new O-rings with
525 viscosity mineral oil.
Install the new O-rings to the refrigerant pipe fittings.
- Position the hose into the vehicle.
- Install the compressor discharge hose at the condenser (5).
Secure with 1 bolt.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb in).
- Install the compressor discharge hose to the compressor (4).
Secure with 1 bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Secure the hose in the radiator mounted bracket. Secure with
the 1 bolt.
- Install the front grille. Refer to
Grille Replacement
in Exterior Trim.
- Evacuate and recharge the air conditioning system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Operate the A/C system and test for refrigerant leaks. Refer to
Leak Testing
