Removal Procedure

  1. Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Remove the evaporative emissions (EVAP) canister.

  3. Object Number: 345603  Size: MH
  4. Remove the 1 bolt and the receiver/dryer outlet pipe (7) from the receiver/dryer.
  5. Disconnect the evaporator inlet pipe at the bulkhead (2).
  6. Remove the evaporator inlet pipe from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 345603  Size: MH
  1. Coat new O-rings with 525 viscosity mineral oil.
  2. Install the new O-rings to the refrigerant pipe fittings.
  3. Install the evaporator inlet pipe to the bulkhead fitting (2).
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Tighten
    Tighten the evaporator inlet pipe bulkhead fitting to 35 N·m (26 lb ft)

  5. Install the receiver/dryer outlet pipe (7) to the receiver/dryer.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the receiver/dryer pipe bolt to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  7. Install the EVAP canister.
  8. Evacuate and recharge the air conditioning system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  9. Operate the A/C system and test for refrigerant leaks. Refer to Leak Testing .
