Removal Procedure
- Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Remove the evaporative emissions (EVAP) canister.
- Remove the 1 bolt
and the receiver/dryer outlet pipe (7) from the receiver/dryer.
- Disconnect the evaporator inlet pipe at the bulkhead (2).
- Remove the evaporator inlet pipe from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Coat new O-rings with
525 viscosity mineral oil.
- Install the new O-rings to the refrigerant pipe fittings.
- Install the evaporator inlet pipe to the bulkhead fitting (2).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the evaporator inlet pipe bulkhead fitting to 35 N·m
(26 lb ft)
- Install the receiver/dryer outlet pipe (7) to the receiver/dryer.
Tighten
Tighten the receiver/dryer pipe bolt to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).
- Install the EVAP canister.
- Evacuate and recharge the air conditioning system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Operate the A/C system and test for refrigerant leaks. Refer to
Leak Testing
.
