Removal Procedure
- Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Remove the evaporative emissions (EVAP) canister.
- Disconnect the evaporator
outlet pipe at the bulkhead (1).
- Disconnect the evaporator outlet pipe from the compressor suction
hose fitting (3) above the radiator.
- Remove the 2 bolts and the pipe from the guide brackets.
Installation Procedure
- Coat new O-rings with
525 viscosity mineral oil.
- Install the new O-rings to the refrigerant pipe fittings.
- Position the evaporator outlet pipe in the vehicle.
- Connect the evaporator outlet pipe to the compressor suction hose
fitting (3) above the radiator.
- Connect the evaporator outlet pipe at the bulkhead (1).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
- Tighten the evaporator outlet pipe to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).
- Tighten the evaporator outlet-to-compressor suction hose pipe
fitting (3) to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).
- Install the pipe to the guide brackets. Secure the brackets with
the 2 bolts.
- Install the EVAP canister.
- Evacuate and recharge the air conditioning system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Operate the A/C system and test for refrigerant leaks. Refer to
Leak Testing
.
