High Mount Stop Lamp Replacement 2-Door

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the spare tire from the bracket.
  2. Disconnect the high-mounted stoplamp electrical connector.
  3. Remove the 3 bolts which secure the lamp.
  4. Remove the lamp from the rear door.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the lamp to the rear door. Secure the lamp with the 3 bolts.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the high-mounted stoplamp bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Connect the lamp electrical connector.
  4. Install the spare tire to the bracket.

High Mount Stop Lamp Replacement 4-Door

Removal Procedure

  1. Open the rear door.
  2. Remove the 2 clips which secure the center high-mounted stoplamp housing.
  3. Remove the high-mounted stoplamp housing from the lamp.
  4. Remove the 2 screws which secure the lamp screws.
  5. Disconnect the lamp electrical connector.
  6. Remove the lamp from the rear door.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the lamp to the rear door. Secure the lamp with the 2 screws.
  2. Connect the lamp electrical connectors.
  3. Install the housing to the lamp. Secure the housing with the 2 clips.
  4. Close the rear door.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
