Did you perform the Instrument Cluster System Check?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
  2. Disconnect the instrument panel cluster assembly connector C3.
  3. Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter from connector C3 cavity 10 to chassis ground.
  4. Measure the resistance.

Is the resistance greater than the specified value?

3.0 ohms

Go to Step 3

Repair the open in the BLK wire between the instrument panel cluster assembly and G200. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the powertrain control module connector C3 and the noise suppressor filter connector.
  2. Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter from noise suppressor filter connector cavity 3 to instrument panel cluster assembly connector C1 cavity 9.
  3. Measure the resistance.

Is the resistance greater than the specified value?

0.5 ohms

Go to Step 5

Repair the open in the BRN wire between noise suppressor filter and the instrument panel cluster assembly. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the ignition coil connector.
  2. Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter from ignition coil connector cavity 2 to noise suppressor filter cavity 4.
  3. Measure the resistance.

Is the resistance greater than the specified value?

0.3 ohms

Go to Step 7

Repair the open in the BRN/WHT wire between the ignition coil and the noise suppressor filter. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  2. Disconnect the noise suppressor filter connector.
  3. Use a J 35616-200 unpowered test lamp in order to backprobe the noise suppressor filter connector from cavity 2 to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 10

Repair the open in the BLK/WHT wire between the noise suppressor filter and the IG-COIL METER fuse. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
  2. Disconnect the noise suppressor filter connector.
  3. Use a J 35616-200 unpowered test lamp in order to backprobe the noise suppressor filter connector from cavity 1 to B+.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 12

Repair the open in the BLK wire between the noise suppressor filter and G101. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?
