Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the hood.
  2. Install the protective covers over the fenders in order to prevent paint damage.
  3. Notice: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.

  4. Mark the position of the hinges to the hood for ease of assembly.

  5. Object Number: 352047  Size: SH
  6. Remove the 2 bolts from each hood hinge (1) which secure the hood (3).
  7. Notice: Anti-corrosion compounds have been applied to the interior surfaces of some metal panels to provide rust resistance. When servicing these panels in areas on which this material has been disturbed, or when installing new panels, avoid corrosion damage by coating with anti-corrosion compound.

  8. Remove the hood (3) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Align the hood with the position marks.

  2. Object Number: 352047  Size: SH
  3. Install the hood (3) to the hinges (1). Secure the hood to each hinge (1) with the 2 retaining bolts. Do not tighten the bolts fully.
  4. Adjust the hood-to-cowl vent grille clearance, the hood-to-headlamp clearance and the hood-to-front fender clearance. Refer to Body Front End Adjustment Specifications .

  5. Object Number: 352050  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Turn the rubber bumpers (1) for vertical alignment.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the hood retaining bolts to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  8. Remove the protective covers from the fenders.
  9. Lower the hood.
