Is the left front power mirror switch assembly inoperative?

  1. Move the power mirror select switch to the L position.
  2. Use a J 35616-200 unpowered test lamp to backprobe from cavity 2 to cavity 6.
  3. Move the power mirror switch to the UP position and the DOWN position.

Does the test lamp light with the switch in both positions?

  1. Use a J 35616-200 unpowered test lamp to backprobe the power mirror switch from cavity 3 to cavity 6.
  2. Move the power mirror switch to the UP position and the DOWN position.

Does the test lamp light in both directions?

Replace the Power Mirror Switch Replacement .

  1. Use a J 35616-200 unpowered test lamp to backprobe the power mirror switch from cavity 2 to cavity 3.
  2. Move the power mirror switch to the LEFT position.

Does the test lamp light?

  1. Use a J 35616-200 unpowered test lamp to backprobe the power mirror switch from cavity 3 to ground.
  2. Move the power mirror switch to the LEFT position.

Does the test lamp light?

Repair the open in the GRN wire between the power mirror switch and the left front power mirror assembly. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the open in the WHT wire between S238 and the left front power mirror assembly.

  1. Use a J 35616-200 unpowered test lamp to backprobe from cavity 6 to cavity 3.
  2. Move the power mirror switch to the DOWN position.

Does the test lamp light?

Repair the open in the BRN wire between the power mirror switch and the left front power mirror assembly. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  3. Move the power mirror switch to the L position and the R position.

  2. Push the power mirror switch to the L position.

  1. Use a J 35616-200 unpowered test lamp to backprobe the right front power mirror switch assembly from cavity 3 to ground.
  2. Push the power mirror switch to the L position.

  2. Move the power mirror switch to the DOWN position.

Does the test lamp light?

Repair the open in the BRN wire or the BRN/RED wire between the power mirror switch and the right front power mirror assembly. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
