- Wash the affected panel area with soap
and water.
- Wipe the panel dry.
- Use oil-free naptha or alcohol in order to remove all traces of
the adhesive from the body panel and the back of the molding.
- Mark the proper position of the molding with a length of masking
tape. Use adjacent moldings as a guide if applicable.
- If the vehicle body is below 21°C (70°F) due to the shop
temperature or the outside temperature, use a heat gun in order to warm the
panel before proceeding to the next step.
- Apply 1 of the following double-coated acrylic foam tapes to the
molding:
| • | 3M Super Automotive Attachment Tape, P/N 06380 (white backing) |
| • | 3M Super Automotive Attachment Tape, P/N 06382 (gray backing) |
- Align the molding to the tape guideline (1).
- Press the molding firmly into place.
