Squeaks and rattles are caused by improperly controlled
relative motion between the components. The following are 3 steps used in
order to prevent squeaks or rattles:
• | Attach the component securely in order to ensure that there is
no relative motion during operation. |
• | Separate the components in order to ensure that there is no contact
under operating conditions. |
• | Insulate the components in order to ensure that there are no squeaks
or rattles occurring with relative motion between the components. |
| Low uniform friction surfaces can be provided in order to eliminate "stick-slip"
motion. |
